More fruit borne by the subtle gift of domestic argument.

Round one of this battle of wits is over.  I got some parts laid down in the end, but still very unsure of where to go from here.

Hear it here.

Note: yeah, it’s called “ukulele song”, so where’s the ukulele?  The uke track was the first track I put down initially, and it holds all the major chord changes.  But then in the middle of recording I decided to make a drastic change and had to delete it.  Hopefully I can bring it back, but not for a day at least.  The basic direction of the song is well established, but there are major instrument parts yet to be devised; you’ll hear their obvious absence when you hear it.

Here are the lyrics, humble and silly as they are :
DON’T GO THERE
WE’VE BEEN THERE ALREADY
YOU’RE ANGRY I CAN SEE
BUT WAIT A MINUTE MORE

NOW DON’T GET A KNIFE
& DON’T GO FOR THE MACHETE
DON’T GO, JUST DON’T GO

WHATEVER IN THE WORLD COULD CHANGE ME
(I DON’T KNOW)
BUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE PASSING BY ME
YOU’RE ONE OF THE FEW I CARE TO KNOW
IS IT SAD TO SAY IT? WELL ITS TRUE

IT’S YOU THAT HEARS ME WHEN I’M SPEAKING WAY TOO SOFTLY
IT’S YOU THAT KEEPS ME WALKING AND CHEWING GUM
IT’S YOU THAT HELPS ME WHEN I’M ON MY WAY TO FALLING DOWN
IT’S YOU, MORE THAN THEM IT’S YOU, ABOVE ALL IT’S YOU

TRY TO STICK AROUND
WE’VE BEEN THROUGH THIS ALREADY
YOU’RE ANGRY I CAN HEAR
THE WORDS ARE VERY CLEAR

DON’T GO RIGHT
DON’T GO LEFT
DON’T GO, JUST DON’T GO

I’ll followup tomorrow, hopefully with a ukulele part at least, and we’ll make some sense of the ending.
